Rilke: THE PANTHER

Rainer Maria Rilke wrote “The Panther” between 1902 and 1903, which was first published in 1907.

Not much is left to say after you read Rilke’s beautiful poem. After more than 100 years since, we still keep wild animals in cages and glorified enclosures for people to gawk at for our entertainment. We are such a sad example of life.
