HARVEST
Inspired by Gwendolyn Brooks

Like it or not, we on the left end of the spectrum in America are kindred spirits of the right-wing crowd and vice versa. We are all humans, many not well-versed and educated, and together as such, are a current curse to our planet. But nevertheless, we are all one - hatred, enlightenment, warts - all our multitude. May the rest of humanity forgive us for what we let happen in our name.
The paper colors of the print are chosen purposefully: some white, mostly brown, some black.

I am asked about the choice of letters: not typography, but writing. I decided to use common adult hand-printed writing as I encounter it from friends, family, students, and professionals, people of all ages. Penmanship and cursive writing are not taught any longer at American schools. In this sad state of overall decline we find ourselves in, Brooks offers a bond for all of us - an insight that we and our powerful nation would be well advised to heed.
